Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy for Adults 18 and over

Ooyia Integrative Wellbeing Practices offers counselling and psychotherapy for adults aged 18 and over, providing space to explore experiences, understand emotions and relationships, and consider what may be important in the process of becoming.

Working online across the UK and face-to-face in Allestree, Derby, Ooyia offers an integrative, person-centred and trauma-informed approach. The therapeutic work is shaped collaboratively, with attention to each individual's experiences, history, circumstances, perspectives, needs and preferences.

A space to explore what matters

There are times when experiences, emotions or circumstances can feel difficult to make sense of.
Some experiences may have been present for a long time; others may emerge through relationships, significant life events or periods of transition.

Counselling and psychotherapy can provide a confidential space to pause, reflect and explore these experiences with greater understanding.

The reasons for seeking therapy are personal. There is no expectation to arrive with everything understood or clearly expressed. The process can begin with whatever feels important to bring.

An approach shaped around the individual

At Ooyia, therapy is not approached as a fixed programme or a collection of techniques applied in the same way to everyone.

The work develops collaboratively, informed by person-centred principles, trauma-informed understanding and relevant therapeutic perspectives.

Individual experiences, preferences, boundaries and circumstances remain central throughout the process.

Understanding, safety and the process of becoming

The work at Ooyia is informed by five interconnected dimensions:

Safety. Understanding. Regulation. Integration. Growth.

These dimensions provide a way of understanding different aspects of the therapeutic process. They are not stages to be completed or a prescribed pathway, but interconnected considerations that may become relevant in different ways for each individual.
