Contact and Enquiries
A space to begin
Making an enquiry about counselling or psychotherapy can be a meaningful first step.
There may be questions about how therapy works, whether the service is appropriate, or what to expect from an initial appointment.
At Ooyia Integrative Wellbeing Practices, enquiries are welcomed with care, respect and consideration for individual circumstances.
There is no expectation to have everything clearly understood or explained before making contact.
Getting in Touch
For enquiries about counselling and psychotherapy, please use one of the following contact options.
victoria.olanipekun@ooyia.co.uk
The practice can also be contacted by text message using the telephone number displayed on this website.
Please note that the telephone number is provided for text messages only. Telephone calls are not currently offered as an enquiry method.
What to Include in an Enquiry
An initial message can be brief.
It may be helpful to include:
- A first name or preferred name.
- Whether online or face-to-face therapy is being considered.
- A general indication of what support is being sought, if comfortable sharing.
- Any questions about appointments, fees or availability.
There is no need to provide a detailed personal history or sensitive clinical information in an initial email or text message.
Further information can be discussed through the appropriate enquiry and assessment arrangements.
What Happens After an Enquiry?
An initial enquiry provides an opportunity to consider whether Ooyia may be an appropriate service for the support being sought.
The process generally involves:
1. Initial Contact
An enquiry is received through the practice's professional email or text message contact channel.
2. Exploring Suitability
Relevant information may be requested to help understand the nature of the enquiry and whether the service is appropriate.
This is approached with respect for privacy and the individual's preferences.
3. Discussing Arrangements
Where therapy appears appropriate, appointment availability, fees and practical arrangements can be discussed.
4. Beginning Therapy
Where both parties agree to proceed, the necessary registration, assessment and therapeutic agreement arrangements are completed before or as part of beginning the therapeutic work.
Making an enquiry does not create an obligation to proceed.

Confidentiality and Privacy
Enquiries are handled with care and in accordance with the practice's confidentiality and data protection arrangements.
Email and ordinary text messages may not provide the same level of protection as a dedicated clinical platform.
For this reason, detailed personal histories, clinical records or highly sensitive information should not be included in an initial enquiry.
Information collected during the enquiry process is used to respond to the enquiry, consider suitability and, where appropriate, make arrangements for therapy.
Further information about how personal information is collected, used, stored and retained is available in the Ooyia Privacy Notice.
When Other Support May Be More Appropriate
Ooyia recognises that different circumstances may require different forms of professional support.
Where the service is not appropriate for an individual's needs, this can be discussed sensitively, with consideration given to other sources of support or referral options where appropriate.
This forms part of responsible and ethical therapeutic practice.
Urgent or Emergency Support
Ooyia is not an emergency or crisis service.
The practice's email and text message channels are not continuously monitored and should not be used when immediate support is required.
Where there is immediate danger to life or a serious risk of harm, call 999 or attend the nearest Accident and Emergency department.
For urgent mental health support in England, contact NHS 111 and select the mental health option.
Please do not wait for a response from Ooyia when urgent assistance is required.
